The latest ophthalmic laser SMILE surgery improved the shortcomings of the old PRK and LASIK surgery. With precise femtosecond laser three-dimensional cutting, only 2-4mm wounds are retained, the corneal integrity and strength are preserved, and the postoperative recovery are quickly. The patient feels comfortable and can rub his eyes and wash face the night after surgery. More importantly, the doctors only need the SMILE laser device to complete myopia laser surgery without the excimer refractive laser refractive device.
Excelsius Medical successfully applied matrix scanning method (Grid Matrix Scanning Method) with appropriate galvo scanner, eye tracking system and machine components into the high-efficiency femto refractive laser for smile surgery. We have not only improved the shortcomings of the ZEISS VISUMAX about the big machine size and heavy but also have the advantages of being able to move and operate between clinics. The cost of surgery for each doctor can be shared by renting and offering a reasonable price of SMILE surgery for the patient.
Excimer lasers are used to reshape the curvature of the cornea and change the focus of the light into the retina, compensating for visual defects caused by myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism. The existing excimer laser are using a fixed laser beam design to make the microscope and laser beam in coaxial. The doctor needs to use a precision triaxial operating table to move the patient and let patient’s eyes to be coaxial with the laser beam, and the eye tracker is used to monitor the position of the eye. However, the movement of the eye is a mixture of translation and rotation, the patient must try to keep his eye stable for the surgical result. It is causes inconvenience of doctors in operation and more discomfort for patients.
Excelsius Medical design the flexible laser beam of Excimer laser refractive surgical instrument. In this new designed, the laser beam is guided into a handheld device which is operated by the doctor to make the laser beam and eyes in coaxial. Therefore, there is no need to worry about the movement of eyes during surgical. This design improved the accuracy, simplify, convenience and freedom in surgery, provide the doctors and patients with a completely different from the old design and more comfortable surgical experience.
