To encourage elite professionals from the academic field to the Biotech industry and to foster the development of biotechnologies, the Taipei City Government has been organizing the “Taipei Biotech Awards” since 2004, setting up award categories based on key aspects of the biotech industry, such as exploring and developing innovative technologies, technology transfer, marketing, and industry-academia collaboration.
A committee comprising experts from various fields such as biotechnology, finance, intellectual property, and venture capital. Taipei Biotech Awards has currently reviewed over one thousand outstanding achievements and has awarded 273 awards with a total of over 100 million dollars in prize money. The combined efforts of the industry and the city government have earned the “Taipei Biotech Awards” the nickname of the “Biotech Oscars” within the biotech community, making it an excellent platform for top domestic biotech companies to strengthen their corporate image and enhance international reputation.
