AmCad BioMed Cooperation is dedicated to developing premium and revolutionized medical devices to transform clinical ultrasound practice. Not only do we develop the technique of computed assisted detection system, but we also assist to achieve the purpose of early diagnosis and early treatment. Now, we’re developing next generation of medical devices. We will help physicians to solve the clinical problems, and revolutionize the present diagnosis into a more efficient procedure.
Thyroid ultrasound and cytology computer assisted detection (AmCAD-UT & AmCAD-CA)
AmCAD-UT is the ultimate clinical diagnostic solution for thyroid ultrasound images, and by far the world’s first and only commercially available ultrasound CAD specifically designed for thyroid nodules with FDA and CE Mark marketing clearance. With the non-invasive, pain-free operation and detailed report system optimized for clinical practice, AmCAD-UT makes follow-up of thyroid nodules a lot easier, both for patients and physicians, avoiding unnecessary fine-needle aspiration and surgeries. AmCAD-UT utilizes patent-protected algorithms to quantify and visualize suspicious features for malignancy, then put together all information for interpretation with our effective report system. With the proprietary image calibration technology, AmCAD-UT is compatible with all available ultrasound systems. AmCAD-UT is also DICOM compliant and can be easily installed and used in any computer connected to a local PACS. It is proven that AmCAD-UT can assist physicians to improve diagnosis accuracy and consistency.
AmCAD-CA is the only commercially available software specifically designed for microscopic cytopathology analysis. AmCAD-CA features visualization and quantification of clinical characteristics, such as nucleus size, circularity, polarity and elongation, nuclear-cytoplasm ratio, inclusion bodies, etc., for microscopic cytology images, aiding professionals in biological and medical research. Functions such as real-time imaging, measurements, adjustment, and calibration are also available.
For instance, more than 22% of the cytology images acquired from fine needle aspirated smears of thyroid nodules are unable to be diagnostically confirmed. Moreover, different physicians may have contradicting interpretations to the same cases, making diagnosis inconsistent. AmCAD-CA will assist diagnostic interpretation by providing objectively quantified values of morphological features with visualized highlights and annotations on the cytology images.
Unique ultrasound imaging technique (AmCAD-US & AmCAD-UV)
AmCAD-US and AmCAD-UV are the innovative ultrasound medical imaging devices with CE mark approval. AmCAD-US is a software device intended to visualize and quantify the statistical distributions of backscattered signals echoed by tissue compositions in the body. The US-mode images displayed on AmCAD-US must not be used alone for primary diagnostic interpretation.
AmCAD-UV is a software device designed for classifying the ultrasonic color intensity data and grouping the color pixels with similar periodic pulsatile waveforms. The image with classified color-coded signals, namely, primary pulsatile, secondary pulsatile, and unidentified signals of flow Doppler ultrasound images, will be generated. The device provides dual images for viewing original dynamic ultrasonic color intensity data and the image with classified color-coded signals, and also provides a trend chart for displaying waveforms of pulsatile intensity changes with summarized statistics. AmCAD-UV is intended as a general-purpose medical image processing tool for vascular pulsatility analysis.
Ultrasonic OSA detection system (AmCAD-UO)
AmCAD-UO is an innovative solution to assist physicians evaluating the risk of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) syndrome. The solution consists of a positioning system and a computer-assisted detection software device. The positioning system helps accurately locate the ultrasound probe to scan and acquire multiple-angle sonographic images of the upper airway. The computer-assisted detection software device is to automatically detect the airspace of the pharyngeal airway. The dynamic changes of the airspace are then computed to evaluate the risk of OSA. The evaluation process is performed on awake patients and takes no more than 15 minutes to get the results. The entire process is objective, accurate, cost-effective and safe and is expected to transform the clinical practice of OSA diagnosis.
Smart handheld medical ultrasound device (iSONO)
The iSONO accessory is a smart handheld medical ultrasound device designed to help physicians performing ultrasound scan. With conventional ultrasound scans, users have to constantly interrupt the scan process by removing the probe from the scanning position to apply more conductive gel on the probe for better sonographic quality. Also, while operating a probe on a patient, the user has to maintain the eyesight on the sonographic images displayed by the ultrasound system, located away from the patient. The iSONO accessary is, thus, designed to improve such ineffective eye-hand coordination during ultrasound scan.
The iSONO accessory cleverly puts together the gel supply, a monitoring display, the ultrasound controls and the probe in a handheld device. With the iSONO accessory, whenever needed, the ultrasound gel can be delivered onto the probe semi-automatically without interrupting the scan process. The integrated monitoring display on top of the scanning probe aligns the ultrasound imaging right at the same aiming direction of the scanned object. Moreover, when used in combination with the bracket and needle guide, the smartly designed device also facilitates user-friendly ultrasound guide invasive procedures and assists physicians to perform real-time aspiration and biopsy.
